A man has been taken to hospital with a head injury after he was assaulted outside the Victoria Centre.

Three police cars and an ambulance were seen outside the shopping centre at the junction with Lower Parliament Street and Main Street at around 7.30pm on Monday, May 24.

No roads were closed, however, with the emergency services solely being based on the pavement area.

The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital following the assault.

No arrests have yet been made.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "This incident is under investigation and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.

"If you have any information please call 101 quoting incident number 695 of May 24."
