Man taken to hospital after assault at Welsh festival

A man was taken to hospital with a fractured jaw after an assault in Newport. Officers were alerted to the incident which occurred between 7pm and 8pm at the Colour Clash festival in Tredegar Park on Saturday, July 16.

The man was transported to a hospital and it was confirmed that he had a fractured jaw. Police are now appealing for witnesses to aid their investigation.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We’re investigating an assault that happened at Tredegar Park in Newport on Saturday 16 July. It happened sometime between 7pm – 8pm at the Colour Clash festival.

"A 20-year-old man, from the Cwmbran area, was assaulted by an unknown man when he was at the back of the audience, watching the main stage. He suffered a fractured jaw and was taken to hospital.
