Man taken to hospital after 'assault' at Nottingham shopping centre

A man has been taken to hospital after he was reportedly assaulted at a Nottingham shopping centre. It comes following reports of a heavy police presence at the Bridgeway Centre in The Meadows on Wednesday evening, January 4.

Nottinghamshire Police has now confirmed that officers were called to the area at around 6.25pm. The force also says a man has been taken to hospital for treatment following the assault.

Inspector Richard Markham said: "The victim, a man in his early 30s, sustained an injury that is not currently believed to be life-altering and he has been taken to hospital for treatment. An investigation is underway to establish what happened and inquiries remain ongoing."

People with any information about the incident are being asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 548 of January 4. Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
