Man taken to hospital after 'altercation' in the Lace Market

Detectives investigating an assault in Nottingham city centre are appealing for information and witnesses.

Police were called after a man was taken to hospital after suffering injuries following what is thought to have been an altercation.

The incident is thought to have happened in Stoney Street in the Lace Market at around 3am on Sunday, August 16.

Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries not thought to be life threatening or life altering.

“We are now working to establish the circumstances around the incident and are appealing to anyone with any information to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“Were you out in the area at the time? Did you hear or see something suspicious?

“Anything you have could play a role in helping us piece together what happened to the man.”
