Man allegedly raped woman he met on Bumble, then dropped her at train station

A Sydney man posing as a doctor on the dating app Bumble lured a woman to his house, raped her, then dropped her off at a train station, court documents allege.

David Gabrieli, 37, was wearing a grey jumper and jeans when he was led into Waverley Court in the city's east this morning.

The father, who is originally from France, is accused of attacking a 26-year-old woman after she agreed to meet at his Maroubra unit around midday in late January.

Police allege he met the woman using the Bumble dating app.

Court documents allege Mr Gabrieli first kissed the victim on the lips and breasts before forcing her hand on his erect penis and rubbing it up and down.

It is then alleged Mr Gabrieli had sex with the woman, knowing she did not want to, before intentionally hurting her.

The accused then drove the woman to Mascot Station where she caught the train home and reported the incident to police.

Yesterday, NSW Police arrested him at the same address on Boyce Road, where the alleged attack took place six months ago.

Mr Gabrieli was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with two counts of indecent assault, two counts of aggravated sexual assault without consent and hindering a person executing a crime scene.

Outside court, Mr Gabrieli's barrister, Daniel Briezniak, said his client would be pleading not guilty to all charges.

"He did have contact with the complainant, but he didn't assault her," Mr Briezniak said.

Mr Briezniak said his client had never been in custody before and was "very concerned" after being charged.

Mr Gabrieli is due to face court again next month.
