Man suffers 'very serious' head injury in crash involving Audi and motorbike

A man suffered 'very serious' head injuries after a crash between an Audi and a motorcycle in Salford .

Oldfield Road has been taped off between Regent Road to Liverpool Street following the smash.

The incident happened at 10.20am on Friday.

A North West Ambulance Service spokeswoman took the male, who is in his 20s or 30s, to Salford Royal Hospital.

She said: "We were called at 10.20am to a road traffic accident between a car and a motorcycle.

"We have taken the patient to Salford Royal. He suffered a very serious head injury. A helimedic was sent to the scene.

"The patient was taken to hospital via land ambulance."

It is unclear at this stage whether the patient's injuries are life threatening.

A spokeswoman for GMP said: "We were called to a road traffic accident between an Audi car and a motorbike.

"The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries."
