Man suffers ''significant facial injuries' during alleged assault and robbery in Bangor

A man has suffered "significant facial injuries" during an alleged assault and robbery in Bangor.

Detectives have issued an appeal following the incident that took place in the Southwell Road area on Monday, September 21, at around 9pm.

It has been reported that a man in his 40s was walking in the area when he was assaulted by two unknown males.

The victim's wallet was stolen during the attack and he suffered significant facial injuries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives are appealing for information following a report of robbery and assault in the Southwell Road area of Bangor on Monday evening (September 21st).

"It was reported that at around 9.00 pm, a man in his 40s was walking in the area when he was assaulted by two unknown males.

"The victim’s wallet was taken and he suffered significant injuries to the face.

"The investigation is ongoing and detectives would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 2160 21/09/20.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous."
