Man suffers 'serious life changing injuries' after Mercedes smashes into oak tree in Sale

A terrifying car crash in Sale has left a man with ‘serious life changing injuries’.

The collision, on Norris Road, saw a blue Mercedes collide with an oak tree at around 10pm on Saturday (July 24) evening.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, which saw three passengers, a 54-year-old man, and two women aged 49 and 20, injured.

Police have confirmed the 54-year-old man ‘has serious life changing injuries’.

Now, officers are urging anyone with any information to come forward.

Cops say the driver of the vehicle left the scene prior to their arrival, and investigating officers are keen to trace him and speak with him as part of their inquiries.

Inquiries are on-going into the circumstances of the collision, forensic tests are being carried out on the vehicle, and officers want to hear from any witnesses or residents nearby, who may have seen anything, or captured anything on CCTV or dash cam footage at the time.
