Man suffers serious injuries after bus crash in Leeds city centre

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a bus in Leeds.

The 51-year-old pedestrian collided with a First West Yorkshire bus in York Street, Leeds city centre at around 12.30pm on Friday, August 16.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the man was seen to by medical staff at the nearby York Street Health Practice before he was taken to hospital.

West Yorkshire Police say his injuries are believed to be serious but not life threatening.

The bus driver stopped at the scene and the passengers were loaded onto a replacement bus.
