Man suffers serious eye injury after attack in McDonald’s on London’s Oxford Street

Man seen in McDonald's on Oxford Street - (Metropolitan Police)

A man was left with a serious eye injury after a brawl erupted at a McDonald’s on Oxford Street.

The 45-year-old victim had an argument with a suspect before the assault took place inside the restaurant.

But Metropolitan Police officers say a motive for the attack remains unclear.

The force released a CCTV image of a male they wish to speak after the incident at around 11.12pm on May 29. They are now appealing for the public’s help.

Detective Sergeant Eric Somerville, who is leading the investigation, said: “Do you recognise this man? Were you in the Oxford Street area on Thursday, May 29?

“Do you know anything about this incident that may help our investigation?

“We have followed up several lines of enquiry already but need the help of the public to identify the suspect.”

Police attended alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated the man for a serious injury to his eye before taking him to hospital.

The suspect made off following the incident.

Anyone with information that may assist police, can call them on 101, quoting 01/7552496/25.
