Man suffers 'number of stab wounds to his head and upper body'

A man is in a serious condition after suffering 'a number of stab wounds to his head and upper body'.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an alleged incident in Dundonald last night, Saturday June 6.

A police spokesman said: "At around 11.30pm it was reported that a 39-year-old male had sustained a number of stab wounds to his head and upper body after he was assaulted at a property on Comber Road. 

"He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is described as serious.

"A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 41-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders.

"Both remain in police custody at this time."

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Comber Road last night and who witnessed any form of altercation or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Lisburn on 101 quoting reference 1848 06/06/20.
