Man suffers life-threatening injuries after car 'bursts into flames' following A52 crash

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after his car "burst into flames" following a crash on the A52 this afternoon.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the Gamston Lings Bar stretch of Radcliffe Road at around 2.45pm today (July 2).

Initial reports suggested a car was on fire.

Officers now believe the vehicle was in a collision.

A Nottingham Police spokesman said: "It is believed the vehicle had been involved in a collision with another car before bursting into flames.

"The road remains closed in both directions and officers are now investigating the incident.

"A man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 452 of July 2.
