Man suffers 'life-changing' injuries in stabbing

A man in his 40s has suffered 'life-changing' injuries after being stabbed in Tyldesley.

Police were called out to Castle Street at around 10pm on Sunday night (June 6) following reports of an assault.

Officers attended a property and discovered that a man had suffered a stab wound.

Greater Manchester Police says that the man was taken to hospital with injuries which are believed to be life-changing. He is now in a stable condition.

Police are yet to make an arrest and anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 10.00pm last night (June 6, 2021) police attended a report of an assault on Castle Street, Tyldesley.

"Officers attended a residence and established a man had sustained a stab wound.

"He was taken to hospital where he is described as in a stable condition. His injuries are thought to be life-changing.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics attended and took a patient to hospital.
