Man suffers fractured eye socket after attack by group in South Belfast

A man remains in hospital after a "serious assault" in South Belfast on Monday.

The man suffered a fractured eye socket and fractured arm in an attack by a group of three in Donegall Pass.

The man in his 50s was reportedly attacked by two males and a female who arrived in the Posnett Street area in a dark coloured car at around 6pm.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or who has dash-cam footage which could be of assistance to their enquiries to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 1637 09/12/19.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
