Man suffers face fractures after being punched to the ground at Newcastle Central Station

A man has suffered fractures to his face after he was punched to the ground at Newcastle Central Station.

The 25-year-old was attacked by an unknown man while he was standing near the taxi rank at the station at about 9.30pm on Saturday July 25.

The victim is currently receiving on-going medical treatment for the injuries and British Transport Police have launched an appeal to find the man responsible.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened or who has dash cam footage from Neville Street at the time of the incident.

Anyone who has information which may help their investigation is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
