Man suffers broken pelvis after jumping from roof in Seaham's main shopping street.

A man was taken to hospital with a broken pelvis after jumping off a roof in Seaham.

The 22-year-old had jumped from the roof of a building on Church Street, in Seaham, and landed on a Hyundai car.

Police and paramedics were called to the incident at around 9.45pm on Friday.

The man was taken to hospital after fracturing his pelvis and is in a stable condition.

A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “Police were called after a man jumped from a roof in Church Street, Seaham, on July 31.

“Officers responded to reports of concern for a 22-year-old man who had jumped from a roof and landed on a car at around 9.45pm.

“An ambulance was called and the man was taken to hospital after suffering a fractured pelvis. He remains in a stable condition.

“A Hyundai car was damaged during the incident.”
