Man suffers broken jaw in attack outside takeaway just two days before Christmas

A man suffered a broken jaw after being attacked outside a Gateshead takeway just two days before Christmas.

Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to about the assault.

The attack happened in the early hours of December 23 when a 30-year-old man was assaulted following an altercation with a stranger in a takeaway on Gateshead High Street.

It left the victim with a broken jaw in two places and he needed metal plates inserted.

The offender then left the scene.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and now Northumbria Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to.

He was in the takeaway at the time of the assault and may be able to assist police.

The man, or anyone who knows him, is encouraged to contact police on 101 quoting ref 170019D/18 or email the investigating officer on 1007@northumbria.pnn.police.uk.
