Man suffers brain injury after being attacked outside Llanelli bar

A man required specialist treatment for a brain injury at a Cardiff hospital after being attacked outside a bar in the centre of Llanelli. The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, May 8 outside the Met Bar, located at the top end of Station Road in the town.

According to police, the man was assaulted and knocked to the floor. He was injured in the attack and needed specialist care at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for a bleed on his brain and bruising.

Police are now appealing for information regarding the attack. A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are appealing for information over an assault that left a man requiring hospital treatment in Llanelli. The man was assaulted outside the Met Bar, in Llanelli, at around 3am on Sunday, May 8, when he was knocked to the floor.

“He was taken to hospital where it was discovered he had suffered a bleed on the brain, as well as bruising, requiring specialist care at the Heath Hospital in Cardiff. The victim was wearing a yellow Adidas T-shirt with a large blue ‘P’ on the back, with blue stripes on the sleeves.

“Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police, either online, by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or by calling 101.
