A man suffered a bleed on the brain after being punched in a bar in the city centre.
At around 9.30pm on Monday, May 7, a disturbance occurred at Ruby Blues bar on Great Charlotte Street. The victim, a man in his 30s, brushed past a man and a woman in the venue. He was then punched in the face.
As a result the victim suffered a fractured eye socket and bleed to the brain. He was taken to hospital and is still recovering from his injuries, both physically and mentally, police said.

A member of bar staff intervened and was then also assaulted. CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects responsible, and detectives have issued images of a man and a woman they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Katie Coote said: "This was a dangerous and unprovoked attack that left the victim seriously injured. Violence like this will never be tolerated on the streets of Merseyside.
“The victim is still healing from the assault, which will no doubt have a lasting psychological impact. This incident took place when the bar was still busy with people, so if you were in the Ruby Blues bar at around 9.30pm on Monday, May 7 and saw the altercation or the events leading up to it, then please contact us.
"I am also appealing for people to come forward if you recognise the man and woman featured in these images. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
