Man suffers bleed on brain after being kidnapped and beaten up in Nottingham city centre

A man has suffered a bleed on the brain and is in the Queen's Medical Centre after being kidnapped and beaten up in a car.

Nottinghamshire Police was first called after a man went for a walk and was bundled into a vehicle, threatened with a knife and assaulted.

It was reported a man was out for a walk and was heading along Curzon Street in the city centre towards the direction of Booth Close, when he was beckoned over by two men.

As he approached, they produced a knife and dragged him into the back of a car, police added.

He was threatened with the weapon and beaten up inside the vehicle on October 4.

"He has suffered injuries to his face, ear and gums, as well as suffering a bleed on the brain. Thankfully his injuries aren't being considered life threatening," said Detective Inspector Chanelle Whitney.

No arrests have been made in connection with the attack at this time.

DI Whitney added: "This was a distressing incident for the victim and we are working around the clock to establish the circumstances.

"We are now appealing for information and witnesses following the reported kidnap.

“Did you see anything suspicious in Booth Close, near to the Glasshouse, in Hockley at around 11pm on 4 October 2020?

"If you can help with our enquiries please call 101, quoting incident number 755 of 4 October 2020."
