GURUGRAM: A drunk man and his cousin allegedly stoned the former's 60-year-old father to death after a brawl in the Farrukhnagar area of Gurugram on Tuesday.
Sandeep, a resident of Mubarikpur and the victim’s older son, in his police complaint, said that he has three sisters and two brothers. However, only he and his younger brother, Manjit, lived with their parents. His sisters, meanwhile, had left home after their marriages.
On Tuesday, his father, Krishan, and mother were sleeping on the ground floor while he was sleeping on the first. A drunk Manjit and their cousin Rajesh allegedly returned home late at night and started to urinate in front of the house. “My mother shouted at them and asked them to stop. They started arguing with my mother and attacked her with stones,” said Sandeep in his complaint.
Hearing the commotion, Krishan came out of the house to rescue his wife, but the accused attacked him, too. While their mother ran to the first floor to wake up Sandeep, Manjit and Rajesh stoned Kishan to death and fled from the spot, Sandeep said.
“We took him to the hospital, but he died due to excessive bleeding,” he added.
Police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) against Manjit and Rajesh at the Farukhnagar police station. Inspector Sunil Kumar, station house officer (SHO), Farukhnagar police station, said the body was back with the family after a post-mortem. “We are conducting raids to arrest the accused,” added the SHO.
