Man stole Apple Macs and earphones in burglary spree

A man stole Apple Macs, earphones and laptops while on a burglary spree.

John Joseph Foster, 38, of Osborne Road, Tuebrook, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, July 7, after committing two burglaries and attempting another. Foster first stole items from a home on Bagot Street, Wavertree on April 18, 2023 before heading back out to Norwich Road on May 7, 2023.

Foster then tried to steal items from a third home on Cranbourne Road in Wavertree before he was arrested. During the burglaries Foster stole Apple Macs, earphones and laptops.

Foster was sentenced to three years and four months behind bars for the burglary offences.

Detective Inspector Steven Byrom, of the Burglary Team (Operation Castle), said: “Being a victim of burglary can have a massive impact on the person and families affected as they have had their home invaded which is an awful experience to go through. I am pleased the offender will now spend time behind bars for his actions and I would continue to encourage people to reports any suspicious behaviour so we can take action.

“We are determined to keep reducing offences and the harm this causes across Merseyside, and we will act on information we receive. We encourage people to come forward if you know anything about suspected burglary and the sale of stolen goods where you are.

"We’ll act on all information provided. Burglary offences have decreased year on year across Merseyside thanks largely to Operation Castle, an operation targeted at reducing burglaries, bringing offenders to justice, and ultimately sparing residents the anguish of being a victim of burglary.

“We will continue to work proactively with communities and our partners to keep this progress going.”
