Officers are appealing for witnesses after the man, aged between 30 and 40, was spotted falling off the bridge at 9pm.

He had been seen sitting on the east side of the bridge.

The man was described as white, tall, of a medium to large build, with short or greying hair and wearing a grey or brown fur jacket.

A police boat and helicopter were called but the man wasn’t found.

Anyone who was at the scene or has information is asked to call City of London Police on 020 7601 2999, quoting reference number 19000072491.
