A man hit by a police car is still battling for his life more than three days after the tragic crash.
Investigators have confirmed the 39-year-old remains in a critical condition.
He was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Sunday after being struck by a Merseyside Police car in Maghull.
The man was walking across Northway , near the Alt Park Hotel, when he was hit by the vehicle at around 12.20am.
The police car was being driven to an incident at the time.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has launched a probe into the incident and officers have met with the injured man's family.
The organisation confirmed the man remained in a critical condition on Wednesday afternoon.
