Man steals 50 inch TV by walking out of Tesco as police appeal for info

A man casually walked out of a Tesco store with a 50 inch TV without paying for it.

Cops are appealing for information on the incident, which happened on December 13 at the shop in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.

CCTV footage on an episode of BBC's Crime NI on Tuesday showed a man lifting a large television from the electronics section and exiting the store and fleeing the scene.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, Belfast Live reports.

Police Fermanagh and Omagh said in a post on Facebook: "As shown on BBC One Crime NI, police are investigating a theft in Tesco, Enniskillen on 13th December 2021.

"At approximately 5:59pm, a male suspect enters the Derrychara Link store.

"He walks towards the aisle where televisions are on display, where he is seen to remove a security tag from a boxed 50 inch TV and takes it off the shelf.

"He then exists the store with the TV, without paying for it. The value of the TV was £379."

"Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to Crimestoppers Northern Ireland anonymously on 0800 555 111."
