Man starts conversations with victims before robbing them in West Town: police

The armed robberies happened between June 4 and June 9.

Police are warning West Town residents about three armed robberies that were reported in June.

In each incident, the offender sparks up a conversation or does something to grab the victim’s attention before flashing a gun and announcing the robbery, according to a community alert from Chicago police. The offender then demands property and runs away.

The incidents occurred June 4 in the 1400 block of North Damen Avenue, June 9 in the 1600 block of North Honore Street and June 10 in the 1400 block of North Hoyne Avenue, police said.

All three incidents happened in the late evening hours, police said.

Anyone with information about these armed robberies is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
