Man stabbed with scissors after fight breaks out at Salford tram stop

A man was stabbed with a pair of scissors after a brawl broke out at Eccles Metrolink stop.

Police were called to reports of two men fighting at the station on Regent Street on Saturday (May 9).

One of the men stab the other man with scissors, it is understood.

The 20-year-old victim suffered minor injuries, police said.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution and has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives have launched an investigation into the attack, which happen at around 4.55pm.

Officers are appealing for witnesses - or anyone with further information - to come forward.

A statement released by GMP said: "Police were called at around 4.55pm on Saturday, May 9, 2020 to reports of two men fighting at a tram stop on Regent Street in Eccles.

"Initial enquiries have suggested that during the fight, one of the men proceeded to stab the other man with scissors.

"The victim – aged 20 – suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution before being discharged.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
