A man was stabbed several times after a fight between a gang of men in a barber shop.
Merseyside Police were called to Aigburth Road at around 3.40pm on Tuesday, May 2, following reports of a fight between a gang of men at Groom Barber Shop. Once officers arrived at the scene they found a man in his 20s with several stab wounds to his legs and back.
The man was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. A cordon is in place covering a number of shops and the pavement outside.

At least five police vehicles were at the scene, including forensics officers. Forensics were seen placing items into evidence bags outside the barber shop.
Chief Inspector Colin Dyer said: “We are in the early stages of investigating this incident as we seek to establish exactly what happened. We currently have a large police presence in the area carrying out a number of lines of enquiry and I would encourage people who were on Aigburth Road this afternoon and saw this incident to come forward and tell us what they know.
“Anyone carrying knives or dangerous weapons to threaten the safety of themselves and others in our community will not be tolerated in our city and our officers are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
People working in the area said it was “scary” to hear somebody had been stabbed on the road.
One woman, who asked not to be named, said: “It’s really scary to see police here. This used to be seen as a posh area but it’s creeping downhill now.”
A man who works on Aigburth Road said: “I didn’t see anything but have just had the police come in here asking about it. It’s really grim when it’s right in your doorstep.”
