A man has suffered a number of wounds after he was stabbed multiple times in a shocking broad daylight attack.
Emergency services were called to Kirkby Market at about 1.35pm this afternoon, after reports of an assault.
Photos from the scene showed roads taped off, on St Chad's Drive, just opposite the police station.
Officers confirmed a man suffered "a number of wounds" during the attack.
His condition was confirmed as serious, but not life threatening.
Another male was also arrested.
It is not clear at this stage how old the victim or the suspect are.

It is also understood roads remained cordoned off.
