Man stabbed in the head after being attacked outside a petrol station

A man was stabbed in the head outside a petrol station in Rusholme.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was attacked near to the Shell petrol station at around 8.40pm on November 16 last year.

Police say he suffered a 'serious' knife wound to the head and required stitches in hospital.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

Police constable Callum Leyland, of GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “I appreciate that this incident occurred some time ago, however, we are revisiting this investigation as new evidence has since come to light.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man in this image who was seen to be a passenger in a Black Toyota Yaris to contact us as soon as possible.

“If you have any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, please call us.”
