A young man was repeatedly stabbed in a brawl outside a pub during a weekend of bloodshed that saw five other people shot.

The victim, in his early twenties, was attacked near the Rose & Crown in Orpington, at about 7pm last night as families ate and drank in the hot weather.

Police were called by paramedics, who took the man to a south London hospital, where he remained today.

A Met spokesman said: “His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident. No arrests have been made.” Officers were at the scene of the stabbing today.

Earlier in the weekend, two men, aged 30 and 31, were shot and stabbed after a fight in Mandeville Street, Hackney, at about 1.10am on Saturday.

Detectives said two males — who are the same age as the victims — had been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. Both were released under investigation.

In a separate incident 30 minutes later, a man in his twenties was found with a gunshot wound in London Road, Croydon. Armed officers and paramedics attended and took him to hospital. No arrests have been made.

At about 7pm on Friday, another two young men presented themselves at a south London hospital with gunshot injuries. Police had earlier been called to Akerman Road, Brixton, where they found damage to two parked vehicles but no trace of victims at that time.

None of the victims is in a life-threatening condition in hospital. The Rose & Crown was contacted for comment.

Anyone with information on any of the incidents is asked to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
