Man stabbed in Johnstone playpark after car chase as police hunt thugs

Police are searching for thugs who stabbed a man in a Johnstone playpark after a shocking car chase through the town's streets.

Footage appears to show the alleged 21-year-old victim with horrific facial injuries following the attack on Thursday, October 27. He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment with his injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

The video obtained by the Daily Record shows two destroyed cars with smoke billowing from them while one of the motor's horns blares. Two individuals are seen running towards a man laying stricken on the ground before attacking him. A black Ford Fiesta then flees the scene.

New Snapchat footage appears to have been taken by the driver and shows a white car driving across both lanes as it avoids traffic. It is then rammed from behind by the chasing car with a passenger inside screaming.

Police Scotland has launched a new appeal for witnesses and are urging anyone with dash cam or mobile footage related to the incident to contact them.
