Police are hunting an attacker after a man was left with serious injuries following a horror stabbing in Motherwell.
The victim - a 52-year-old man - was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital with wounds to his head, neck and legs.
His condition was today described as ‘serious but stable’ following the incident in a house in McClurg Court at 11.50pm on Tuesday.
Officers want to speak to a person who was seen in the area at the time.
They are described as white, 5ft 8ins, medium build and wearing dark coloured Adidas track suit bottoms with three stripes down the leg, a dark hoodie, a hat and white trainers and a face mask.
Detective Inspector Kenneth Dalrymple said: “We are appealing for information so that we can establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“We would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious or may have dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries.
“In particular we would like to speak to the person seen in the area at the time who may be able to help with our investigation.
“Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0153 of Wednesday, 23 December, 2020, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
