Man 'stabbed' in Glasgow street as cops probe horror attack

A 31-year-old man is in hospital after a daylight stabbing in Glasgow.

We told how emergency crews swooped on Blairdardie Road in Drumchapel on Monday after reports of a man being assaulted in the area.

The alarm was raised at around 6.20pm.

Police and ambulance crews found the man injured at the scene.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Detectives say they're following a 'positive line of enquiry'.

Officers told the Record on Tuesday morning that his condition is believed to be stable at this time.

Police taped off part of the street and locals reported seeing a large police presence in the area, including police dogs.

A photograph of the scene shows a police cordon around Blairdardie Convenience Store and the Sky Dragon takeaway with cops standing guard outside.

It is understood Cloan Avenue was also taped off by officers but it is not clear if this is related to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "A around 6.20pm on Monday May 10 police received a report a man had been assaulted in Blairdardie Road, Drumchapel.

"Emergency services attended and the 31 year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the assault and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.

"Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference number 2929 of May 10."

The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
