Man stabbed in Drumchapel street as cops cordon off footpath

A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in a street in Glasgow.

The attack took place at around 4.30pm on Friday December 3 in Carolside Drive, in the Drumchapel area of the city.

The victim is understood to have sustained stab wounds in the vicious attack.

Following the assault he was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Police are yet to release further details on his condition, or information on his assailant or the weapon used.

The attack remains under investigation as of today, with the attacker still at large and no arrests or charges yet made by police.

Locals reported that an area of footpath between Carolside Drive and Rozelle Avenue was cordoned off by police officers last night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.30pm on Friday, December 3, police were called to a report that a man had been assaulted in Carolside Drive, Drumchapel, Glasgow.

"He has been taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

"There are no details on his injury or condition, and enquiries into the incident are continuing."
