Man stabbed in chest in Hobart's north

The man was stabbed at Branscombe Road, Claremont.

A man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in the chest in Hobart's northern suburbs, and two young people are assisting police with their enquiries.

Police were called to an altercation at Branscombe Road in Claremont around 8:00pm on Saturday night.

They found a 27-year-old man who had been stabbed in the chest.

He was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police said two youths from Glenorchy are assisting them with their enquiries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage in the area last night.
