Man stabbed in broad daylight yards from family home in Leeds

A 37-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed just yards from his family's home in Leeds.

The victim reported being attacked by a black man who approached him in Easterly Road near the junction with Amberton Road.

Police were called at 1.33pm on February 26 by the family of the victim after he showed up at their address in Gipton Wood Avenue with stab wounds.

His injuries were considered serious but not life-threatening and he is continuing to receive treatment.

Detectives are now appealing for information following the attack.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 1.33pm yesterday police were contacted by the family of a 37-year-old man who were taking him to hospital after he attended their address in Gipton Wood Avenue with stab wounds.

"A scene was put in place to undergo forensic examination and enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID on 101 or online.
