Merseyside Police said a man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the back.

His injuries don't appear to be life threatening, police said.

It's not yet clear whether the stabbing happened inside the store or outside in the street.

Photos taken at the scene on Friday show an officer standing outside the entrance to William Hill on Lodge Lane.

The cordon extends around the front of the bookies and across the entrance to Wordsworth Street.
