Police charged a man with grievous bodily harm following an alleged road rage attack in Logan. (AAP)

A man is in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times following a road rage incident south of Brisbane.

Two men were travelling in vehicles in Logan about 6.40pm on Tuesday when an altercation ensued at intersection of Edenlea Drive and Loganlea Road.

A 25-year-old man exited his vehicle then approached the other driver and assaulted him.

The 21-year-old victim received two stab wounds to his chest, one to the stomach and a cut to his left arm.

He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Police say the assailant fled before attending the Logan police station a short time later, where he was charged with grievous bodily harm.

He will face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
