A man was allegedly stabbed 'up to eight times' and bitten by an out-of-control dog in a shocking afternoon attack.
The 46-year-old victim suffered serious injuries to his upper body and leg on Ackers Lane in Stockton Heath last Friday.
It is alleged the victim was also bitten on the calf by a dog during the incident shortly after 3pm.
Two people have now been charged by Cheshire Police in connection with the incident, a man and a woman, aged 22 and 24.
Taia Ryder, of Ackers Lane, is charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm, being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog which caused injury and affray.
Lewis Oxley, of Harding Avenue in Orford, is charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm and affray.
Both defendants were due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court today.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "Two people have been charged in connection with an assault.
“Taia Antonia Ryder, 24, of Ackers Lane, has been charged with affray, a section 18 assault and being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.
“Lewis Oxley, 22, of Harding Avenue, has been charged with affray and a section 18 assault.
“The pair have been remanded into custody and are due to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Monday, May 17.
“The charges relate to an incident in Ackers Lane on Friday, May 14, in which a man sustained serious injuries.”
He is believed to be still receiving treatment in hospital.
Detective sergeant Darren Reid previously said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the circumstances of what has happened.
“It is believed there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident, and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has information which could be useful and has not already spoken to us to get in touch.
“The same goes for anyone who was driving in Ackers Road at the time and may have any dashcam footage which could assist our enquiries.
“Officers will remain in the area and anyone with any concerns is urged to speak to them."
