A man was stabbed after he was confronted at a cash point in Hyde Park during an attempted robbery.
The 21-year-old victim and a 21-year-old woman were using a cash point in Royal Park Road, at around 2am on Thursday, August 15, when they were approached and threatened by a man.
The victim was then stabbed and he sustained serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
The attacker, who has been described as a slim black man that is around 5ft 7 inches tall with dread locks, left empty handed.
He was seen wearing a blue tracksuit.
Detective sergeant Rob Kennerley said: "This was understandably a really frightening experience for the victims who were put in genuine fear when they were confronted and attacked by this man.
“Thankfully, the injuries sustained are not believed to be life threatening.
“We have been carrying out extensive enquiries to identify the suspect since the incident but are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
People used knives and other sharp weapons to commit 2,030 crimes in Leeds, including murders, robberies and sexual offences, in 2017 and 2018.
