A man in his 30s has been stabbed and an elderly couple assaulted during a shockingly violent house burglary by a gang of thugs in North Dublin.
Gardai in Coolock are investigating the harrowing scenes that took place on Primrose Grove in Darndale at 8:30pm last night.
The gang stormed the home breaking up the doors and windows on their way.
The man in his 30s received a number of stab wounds and was rushed to Beaumont Hospital after the horrific ordeal was over.
Thankfully, his injuries have been described as non-life threatening.
The elderly couple received minor injuries but did not need further assistance.
The full statement read: "Gardaí in Coolock are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred at a house on Primrose Grove, Darndale on Saturday evening, 3rd October, 2020 at approximately 8.30p.m.
"A large group of individuals entered the house and damaging the front door and windows.
"They assaulted the residents of the house, which was one man (late 30s) who received a number of stab wounds and was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
"His injuries are described as non life threatening.
"Another man and woman (early 70s & mid 60s) were also in the house at the time and were assaulted but refused medical attention.
"Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made."
