Man stabbed and another has car stolen in terrifying attack

A man was stabbed and another had his car stolen in a terrifying attack in Bolton. 

The assault happened on Wigan Road in Westhoughton at around 7.45pm on Wednesday (December 9). 

Police say two men, both aged 22, were approached by two men and threatened with a knife. 

The men stabbed one of the victims before fleeing in the other victim’s black Renault Clio in the direction of Cricketers Way. 

The victim received minor injuries as a result of the knife attack and was taken to hospital for treatment. 

The first attacker is described as 6ft, mixed race, of medium build and wearing dark clothing. 

The second is described as 6ft, white, slim build and wearing dark clothing. 

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the investigation are ongoing, a spokesman for GMP said.

In a statement, the force said: “Shortly after 7.45pm on Wednesday 9 December 2020, police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed and another man had his car stolen on Wigan Road, Westhoughton. 

“Officers attended the scene and established two men- aged 22- were approached by two offenders and threatened with a knife. 

“One of the victims was stabbed before the offenders made off in the other victim's black Renault Clio in the direction of Cricketers Way, Westhoughton.

“The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for a minor injury and was later released. 

“The first offender is described as 6ft, mixed race, of medium build and wearing dark clothing. 

“The second offender is described as 6ft, white, slim build and wearing dark clothing. 

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
