Man stabbed after masked men with 'guns and knives' break into Leeds home

A man has been rushed to hospital for treatment after he was stabbed during a burglary in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police were called at 12.23am this morning (January 4) after reports four masked men, armed with guns and knives, had broken into an address in Sirocco Avenue, Allerton Bywater.

They threatened occupants and demanded money, the force added.

A man in his twenties was stabbed in the leg and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The victim's injuries are serious but not life-threatening. However, the police say he has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Armed officers were sent to the scene and to search the area for the suspects.

A cordon is still in place at the address and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
