Man stabbed after knife-wielding gang smash up car in street

A man was stabbed after a gang armed with knives stopped a car and smashed in its windows.

The incident happened on Hermitage Road, Crumpsall, last night at around 6.50pm in front of horrified residents.

Pictures from the scene showed a badly-damaged grey Vauxhall behind a police cordon last night.

All the windows had been completely smashed with glass littering the road.

Witnesses told the M.E.N the car had been 'boxed in' by other vehicles before men armed with knives got out and attacked.

A man was stabbed in the hand during the incident, police said (ASP)

Greater Manchester Police confirmed a man suffered a stab wound to the hand and was taken to hospital.

His condition is not believe to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made.

GMP said in a statement: "Police were called to a report of criminal damage to a car on Hermitage Road, Manchester, involving men armed with knives at around 6.50pm on Monday 9 November 2020.

"One man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the hand that is not believed to be life threatening.

"No arrests have been made.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
