Sept. 09--A man was stabbed and three other men were shot on the city's South Side since Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Most recently, a 24-year-old man was stabbed in the left leg around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
The man was in the 7100 block of South Blackstone Avenue when he was attacked in what was believed to have been an attempted robbery. He was listed in good condition at Stroger Hospital.
Police initially said the man was shot but corrected that information upon further investigation.
No one was in custody.
About 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, a 20-year-old man was shot in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.
The man was standing outside in the 6700 block of South Langley Avenue with friends when he heard gunfire, Greer said.
The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where his condition stabilized, Greer said.
About 7:54 p.m., a 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the Brainerd neighborhood on the Far South Side, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a police spokeswoman.
The man was shot in the left heel in the 9400 block of South Green Street, Trainor said. He was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, where his condition stabilized.
Police said the man was being uncooperative, and no other information about the shooting was available.
Earlier, a 25-year-old man was shot in the left leg about 2:25 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Aberdeen Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Trainor said.
The man was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital. He told police he was outside when a car drove up, a man got out and shot him, then fled.
No one was in custody in the shooting, and police were investigating.
