A man who was spotted on rocks in New Brighton sparked a rescue operation.
New Brighton Lifeboat and Mersey Fire and Rescue were both called out to the area near the Black Pearl wreck earlier today following reports that a man was seen near the water during high winds.
Wirral and Crosby Coast Guard were also alerted and police attended the scene.

Police said they responded to a concern for safety in the area shortly after noon today (Sunday) after a man was seen on the shore near the water.
Police said the man was brought to safety. He was not taken to hospital or detained.
The Met Office has warned the public to avoid coastal areas as Storm Franklin is set to bring strong winds to the region.
The Met Office has said that waves could pose a danger to life on the coast with 50 and 60mph winds set to hit the city today and tomorrow.
