Man spotted mouthing 'bollocks to Brexit' during Channel 4 Tory PM debate

A man was spotted theatrically mouthing "bollocks to Brexit" in the audience for tonight's Tory leadership debate.

The hilarious moment was captured and broadcast live to the nation on Channel 4.

A young man, wearing a Tommy Hilfiger t-shirt and glasses, made the silent pronouncement from the back row of the audience.

It came as a fellow audience member was asking the Tory leadership hopefuls to explain how they would re-unite a divided country.

But as the camera panned behind host Krishnan Guru-Murthy, he began to mouth the phrase straight down the lens - once, twice and then a third time.

Another voice that wasn't heard in the debate was that of Boris Johnson.

The bumbling former Foreign Secretary declined to appear on the show - and his absence was marked by an empty podium being left on the stage.

Michael Gove, Jeremy Hunt, Sajid Javid, Dominic Raab and Rory Stewart took part in the 90 minute debate, broadcast live on Channel 4.

He is due however to take part in Tuesday's BBC’s debate, hours after the latest candidate for No10 is ejected from the field.

Hopefuls need 33 votes to progress to round three on Wednesday.

The MP with the fewest votes will be eliminated in each stage with the final two expected to be revealed on Thursday.
