Man spat at rail staff after being asked to wait to board train with bike

A man told a female member of rail staff to "f*** off" and spat at her after he was asked to leave.

The man had tried to board a train at Warrington Central station with a bicycle when he was asked to wait for other passengers to get off the train first.

He barged past the member of staff and boarded the train while verbally abusing her at just after 5.30pm on Sunday, December 19.

The member of staff then asked him to leave and he responded by telling her to "f*** off" and spat at her before getting off the train and leaving the station.

British Transport Police (BTP) has now released CCTV images of a man they think could help them with their investigation.

A spokesperson for BTP said: "Officers investigating an assault at Warrington Central station are releasing CCTV images in connection.

"At just after 5.30pm on Sunday, December 19, a man tried to board a train with his bicycle when a member of rail staff asked him to wait while other passengers alighted.

"He barged the victim, boarded the train and verbally abused her. When asked to leave he told her to f*** off and spat at her.

"He then got off the train and exited the station.

"Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation."
