Man spat at employee when asked to leave roulette table in city centre casino

A man must carry out unpaid work after spitting twice at staff in a Nottingham casino.

Faisal Ramazan refused to leave the roulette table after getting into a dispute at a casino in Maid Marian Way (now the Grosvenor Casino), a court heard.

He also got involved in pushing other employees, said Anthony Cheung, prosecuting.

City magistrates heard problems came to a head just after 3am on Wednesday, November 20.

Mr Cheung said: "He signed a self-exclusion contract and was banned from playing at the casino.

"But then he refused to leave the roulette table. He spits twice at a member of staff and pushes others."

Ramazan, who had never been in trouble before, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.

The kebab shop worker told the court: "I was just asking for my money back.

"They said 'we are not going to give you money.' I said 'maybe £15'.

"I said I would never come back," added Ramazan, 36, of Castleton Boulevard, Skegness.

He was ordered to carry out 120 hours unpaid work and pay a £90 government surcharge as well as prosecution costs of £85.

Presiding magistrate Roger Clay, who sat with two colleagues, told him: "You spat on the back of a woman's head and spat in a man's face and started pushing them as well."
